Zusammenfassung:Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is the detection of antigens in tissue sections by means of specic antibodies. IHC has the unique advantage over other techniques of demonstrating proteins, thus enabling the correlation of the presence of antigens with their location within a tissue or cell. This is very important for the study of cell function in normal and diseased tissues. IHC was introduced by Coons in the late 1940s and, since then, has been applied extensively to multiple areas of biology.
