Zusammenfassung:	In this chapter, we will review the history and current status of the profession of social work on the hospice interdisciplinary team, reviewing barriers and successes in its development, including difficulties in working across interdisciplinary barriers, the challenge and progress of documentation of outcomes, and major efforts within the field of social work to develop social work curricula, certification for hospice social workers, standards for practice, among a number of other efforts.
