Zusammenfassung: | An upgrading process for Indonesian low rank coal and Australian brawn coal was developed to produce a dry upgraded coal which is comparable with a bituminous coal. The upgrading consisted of a combination of vacuum drying and tar coating processes. This treatment has enabled us to prepare a upgraded coal with the heating value of more than 6500 kcal/kg. The maximum temperature and pressure of the upgrading process were 300°C and 0.5 MPa, respectively. The feasibility study for the newly developed upgrading process was done. The price of upgraded coal was estimated as comparable with or a little cheaper than the price of bituminous coal. |
