Zusammenfassung: | Polluted surface waters are responsible for a substantial part of odor complaints. Sensory evaluation of these problems can be accomplished by static or dynamic methods. The ASTM D 1292 method "Odor in Water," a static method, is compared with a dynamic olfactometric method of odor analysis. Odor dilution ratios range between 28 and 2050. Results indicate that the ASTM D 1292 method is more sensitive (four times) and more precise than dynamic olfactometry. An advantage of the latter method is the speed of the analysis. |
