Electrochemical studies of group III alkyl derivatives: II. Synthesis of adducts of trimethylindium and trimethylgallium

Electrolysis of methylmagnesium chloride or dimethylmagnesium in tetrahydrofuran (thf) with an indium anode yields the spectroscopically characterised adduct Me 3In · thf directly; the adducts Me 3In · L (L = NEt 3, PMe 3, PEt 3) are obtained by direct addition of excess L to Me 3In · thf.
