Zusammenfassung:Immunoelectrophoretic studies of antiserum against the venom of the scorpion Heterometrus fulvipes showed atleast eight different antigens, five anodic and three cathodic fractions. This antiserum tested against Heterometrus swammerdami venom showed similarity to H. fulvipes venom but for one missing band at the point of origin. Reaction with Buthus occitanus venom showed only two anodic fractions and the other six fractions were missing. Venom of H. fulvipes was subjected to dialysis, heat treatment and denaturation with urea, sodium dodecylsulfate and 2-mercaptoethanol and definite changes were observed in the bands at the cathodic end. After the antibody against crude venom was absorbed with the tail segment extract, only two venom specific fractions one each at cathodic and anodic end were observed.
