Zusammenfassung:The nanosecond ruby‐laser pulse effect on the electrochromic properties of a‐WO3 films is studied. The laser effect results in a well developed microrelief on the film surface. The electrochromic coloration/bleaching rate for irradiated films is three times as that of the original films. The results obtained are satisfactorily interpreted within the frame of a thermal instability model for a medium containing strongly absorbing inhomogeneities. The electrochromic properties are improved due to the increase of the O vacancy concentration in the films. [Russian Text Ignored].
