Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	An operculate discomycete was collected on weathered cement in a gunny bag lying near the bank of a small river at an altitude of 5500' in the North Kumoun Hills of India. The apothecia with colored hymenium, marginal, short, colored hairs with blunt ends, and ornamented ascospores are characteristics of Melastiza Boud. Since the description of the present specimen does not fit that of any Melastiza species known so far the fungus is proposed as a new species of the genus Melastiza, M. kumouensis .
