Zusammenfassung: | This paper begins with a discussion of the characteristics of digital signal processing, which are the driving force behind the design of digital signal processors. The remainder of the paper describes the three generations of the TMS320 family of digital signal processors available from Texas Instruments. The evolution in architectural design of these processors and key features of each generation of processors are discussed. More detailed information is provided for the TMS320C25 and TMS320C30, the newest members in the family. The benefits and cost-performance tradeoffs of these processors become obvious when applied to digital signal processing applications, such as telecommunications, data communications, graphics/image processing, etc. |
