Support effects on metal-metal interaction in RhAu bimetallic catalysts

Chemisorption and catalytic activity measurements show that the degree of metal-metal interaction in supported RhAu catalysts depends on the oxide used as a support (SiO 2 > TiO 2 > Al 2O 3). UV-Vis experiments and pH measurement of the impregnating solutions indicate that the metal precursor...

Zusammenfassung:Chemisorption and catalytic activity measurements show that the degree of metal-metal interaction in supported RhAu catalysts depends on the oxide used as a support (SiO 2 > TiO 2 > Al 2O 3). UV-Vis experiments and pH measurement of the impregnating solutions indicate that the metal precursors do not interact in solution. TPR studies demonstrate that different metal precursorsupport affinities determine the degree of RhAu interaction in steps previous to the reduction one. This interaction most probably occurs during the drying step.
