Two withanolides from Withania somnifera

Withania somnifera has yielded two new withanolides, 5-dehydroxywithanolide-R(23β-hydroxy-6α,7α-epoxy-1-oxo-22 R-witha-2,24-dienolide) and withasomniferin-A (17-hydroxy-6α,7α-epoxy-1-oxo-22 R-witha-4,24-dienolide). Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic studies.
