Zusammenfassung:Feeding experiments with deuterium labelled precursors showed that caryoptoside, lamalbid and the secoiridoid alboside B are derived from 8- epi-deoxyloganic acid in Lamium album and that caryoptoside is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of lamalbid and alboside B. The taxonomic consequences of these results are discussed.
