SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF ATROPINE
Atropine reacts with sodium nitrite and 1-naphthylamine to give an orange color having maximum absorbance at 460-470 nm. The reaction is specific for atropine, having 0.1 μg/10ml as visual limit of identification and provides a basis for a new spectrophotometric determination of pure atropine in uri...

Zusammenfassung: | Atropine reacts with sodium nitrite and 1-naphthylamine to give an orange color having maximum absorbance at 460-470 nm. The reaction is specific for atropine, having 0.1 μg/10ml as visual limit of identification and provides a basis for a new spectrophotometric determination of pure atropine in urine, from pharmaceutical preparations in minute quantities, and in the presence of other drugs. The maximum tolerable limits of these are reported. |
