Zusammenfassung:The possibility of reducing the relative intensity noise (RIN) of a quantum cascade laser is demonstrated. By phase-dependent optical feedback from a short, piezo-controlled external cavity configuration, it is possible to achieve up to 9.5 dB of RIN reduction. These findings are consistently explained by a detuned loading approach based on modifying the alpha parameter.
