Zusammenfassung:In order to study urban aerosol pollution dynamics in terms of the time evolution of mixed-layer heights and associated ventilation coefficients, the argon ion lidar and Doppler sodar at the IITM were operated simultaneously for nine nights during April-August 1991 in Pune. The results were found to be useful in explaining the transport/diffusion of pollutants and air quality over the experimental station. Gives a brief description of the experimental and data retrieval techniques and presents a discussion of the results illustrating how a co-located lidar-sodar pair is useful for environmental pollution and/or air quality studies.
