Zusammenfassung:Inherently, switched reluctance motors have a variable force profile that causes vibration and makes awkward its position control. The same principle applies to linear switched reluctance motors, LSRM for short. By the study of the problem of an unbalanced transverse force in a LSRM, a solution came up to that problem and, at the same time, it delivers a more constant driving force as the test results show. The force analysis and physical concept of two transverse-flux tubular linear switched reluctance motors (TFTLSRM) are presented and discussed with the aid of a 3D-finite element modelling. By doing that, it was possible to develop a method of reducing the transverse force that can disturb motion, and to improve the traction force profile. Hence, the force ripple that affects position accuracy and produces vibration is reduced. Simulation results are compared to experimental ones with good agreement.
