The impact of VHF-on-VHF interference in aeronautical communications applications

Zusammenfassung:This paper summarizes results from recent studies by EUROCONTROL and provides several examples to estimate the probability of co-site, but off channel, interference between VHF voice transmissions and reception of VHF data transmissions, including ADS-B signals. The results suggest that such co-site interference - even at frequencies well separated from the transmitter frequency - may be operationally significant, especially for time-critical messages.
