Power quality task force of Taipower: experiences and results on PQ monitoring and mitigation

This paper describes the organization of a power quality management and improvement task force (PQTF) of Taiwan Power Company (TPC) to provide better services to Hsinchu and Tainan Science-Based Industrial Parks (HSIP & TSIP) customers, pertaining to the voltage sag power quality issues. Major experiences and results are presented, including network planning by replacing overhead transmission lines by underground cable loops, project initiation of "Study and monitoring of the solution to distribution power quality at TPC substations in HSIP", comprehensive installation of power quality monitoring systems at substations providing power to HSlP and TSlP. and the PQ monitoring results.
