Zusammenfassung:With the demand of the applications increasing, today’s supercomputers are not powerful enough to perform realistically large simulations. The emergence of grid can satisfy this need for computational power. In this paper, we first introduce the definition of the grid, analyze the characteristics of the computational grid, and outline grid computing research projects in China. In particularly, we describe the architecture of the Galaxy grid node computing environment which contains the Galaxy computer system, front end server and grid system software. We also introduce the development of grid-based applications services.
