First synthesis of (+-)-robinlin

The first synthesis of (+-)-robinlin (1), a novel homomonoterpene with strong bio-activity in the brine shrimp lethality test, was achieved by starting from 3-isobutyloxy-2,6,6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1 -one (2).
