Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this paper is the development of efficient algorithms to control the current of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) with reduced current peaks for both low and high speed operations. In this way, a comparative study of the SRM performances applying three different current control strategies has been performed. The natural-sampled pulse-width modulation (PWM) and the hysteresis-band current control with both fixed and adaptive hysteresis-band have been tested and compared for a 4-phase, 6-pole SRM fed by a symmetrical voltage-static inverter (VSI). The comparison of the different algorithms is presented on the base of the limitation of maximum switching frequency for the power semiconductors.
