Zusammenfassung: | This paper proposes an XML-based mediation framework for seamless access to the Internet information resources that are distributed, autonomous, and heterogeneous. The proposed method is faster in query processing than previously proposed methods since it integrates data in advance while the previous work integrates data as a result of query processing. There have been several approaches for seamless access to heterogeneous Internet resources. While other methods are applicable to integration of structured heterogeneous data that are usually stored in DBMS, mediation approach is appropriate to integration of unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data. XML is introduced to describe a common data model for the mediation by supporting query processing of information resources which have their own query methods, data representation, and schema structures. |
