Up the Nile from Cairo

Part of the experience for these early women travelers visiting Egypt was to sail up the Nile. This meant choosing a dahabeeyah, meeting other travelers, witnessing the picturesque countryside, the fauna, the life of the peasants and their farming methods, the local customs, the banks of the Nile and its inundation of the land, Luxor, Assiut
