When Transatlantic foundered after producing two films, Warner’s restructured Hitchcock’s contract. Under the terms of the new agreement, Hitchcock would continue to be his own producer, and would be paid $3,000 a week for 333 weeks to direct four films for Warner Bros. He would also receive points on those films that turned a profit. This million-dollar deal worked out to $250,000 per film, a considerable increase over the $50,000 that Selznick paid Hitchcock |
