Zusammenfassung:	The levels of lead and other heavy metals in Lake Victoria sediments were evaluated in order to investigate distribution patterns of these metals in the lake. Sediments from seven locations in the lake were collected and analyzed. High heavy metal concentrations were correlated with shallow waters near sources of municipal and industrial wastes. Lead contamination resulting from man-made dissemination of the metal was demonstrated.
