(Gamma)-irradiation-induced grafting of poly(styrenesulfonate) to poly(tetrafluorothylene) shielded microelectrodes

A new method for the fabrication and modification of microelectrodes is described. The method heat seals the electrode material in poly(tetrafluoroethylene) and tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoro-proylene copolymer. Gamma radiation is then used to graft polymers onto the electrode's surface.
