Zusammenfassung: | The beam-beam interaction for a flat beam with a large horizontal crossing angle is studied for the case in which the vertical betatron function at the interaction point is comparable to the bunch length. It is shown that crossing with a large angle has less serious detrimental effects than is usually believed. A large crossing angle might have several merits for future high-luminosity colliding rings. |
