Zusammenfassung:A computational method is suggested for the selection of the best solvent for the extraction of aromatics from hydrocarbons using the UNIFAC method. The method is applied for the separation of benzene from hexane using 21 solvents. The application of such a method requires knowledge of the functional groups present in the feed and the interaction parameters between these groups and the solvents.
