Zusammenfassung: | The usual scaling law for predicting higher-power gyrotron performance from existing data is reviewed, and another, more applicable means of charting improvement progress is proposed. Some of the key elements and design factors considered for gyrotron design are also considered. Some preliminary design parameters for a 140 GHz Mw experimental system are summarized. Areas of application are those where high-frequency, high power requirements are beyond conventional tubes. Some of these include accelerators, radar, secure communications, fusion, and weapons. |
