Interpretation of Resonance Energies in the Photoproduction and Scattering of Pions from Hydrogen

SEVERAL maxima are well established now in the scattering and photoproduction of pions from hydrogen 1–6 . These maxima are generally considered to be due to the excitation of the proton to ‘isobaric’ states.
