Zusammenfassung: | A theoretical analysis is made of the process in which a molecule undergoes a transition between the ground and excited electronic states under the action of a radiation pulse and then, in the interpulse interval, returns to the ground electronic state. Such a periodic process is important in the cooling of molecules by laser radiation. It is shown that the radiation parameters can be selected so that the CO and CN molecules experience over 1000 excitation-relaxation events without dissociation.
