Zusammenfassung: | Proton capture reactions in the CNO cycles define the energy production, nucleosynthesis and timescale of stellar hydrogen burning in massive stars. This paper investigates present uncertainties and inconsistencies in the low energy cross section and reaction rates of critical CNO reactions. The results indicate that new measurements are necessary to reduce the present uncertainties in the reaction rates of the CNO process. |
