The crystal structure of the LiAg{sub 2}In compound

The newly established intermetallic compound LiAg{sub 2}In crystallizes in the MnCu{sub 2}Al-type structure (Fm-3m, Heusler phase) with a=6.5681(5)A. The homogeneity range of this phase in the ternary Li-Ag-In phase diagram along the adjacent quasibinary cut Li{sub 0.25}(Ag{sub 1-x}In{sub x}){sub 0....

Zusammenfassung:The newly established intermetallic compound LiAg{sub 2}In crystallizes in the MnCu{sub 2}Al-type structure (Fm-3m, Heusler phase) with a=6.5681(5)A. The homogeneity range of this phase in the ternary Li-Ag-In phase diagram along the adjacent quasibinary cut Li{sub 0.25}(Ag{sub 1-x}In{sub x}){sub 0.75} was determined by X-ray powder diffraction and extends from x{approx}0.33, Li{sub 0.25}Ag{sub 0.50}In{sub 0.25}, up to x{approx}0.44, Li{sub 0.25}Ag{sub 0.42}In{sub 0.33}. The homogeneity ranges of Heusler- and Zintl-type phases in the Li-Ag-In system are separated from each other by a broad heterogeneous region.
