Zusammenfassung: | A direct headspace gas chromatographic method was used to measure Henry's constants of methanol in pulping spent liquors. The liquors were from kraft pulp mills and laboratory pulping experiments using various wood species. All liquors studied had a total solids less than 25%. It was found that temperature and concentration of inorganic solids, mainly sodium salts, are the two variables that significantly affect the Henry's constants of methanol. A two-parameter (temperature and liquor total solids content) correlation was developed based on the experimental data and is reported in this study. |
