Zusammenfassung: | The International Conference in Buenos Aires in 1985 marked the beginning of a period of consolidation and exceptionally profitable experimental use for many large electrostatic accelerators. During this period several machines have been upgraded or brought on line and injection into boosters has become more important. The effects of these changes are reviewed for several large North American accelerators. Operating practices and technical developments are compared and related to improvements in utilization, reliability and performance. |
