Zusammenfassung: | We present in this book a collection of essays devoted to the nature-architecture relationship. These are essays written by architects and from the designer's point of view: in fact, what we are interested in is not to discuss the relationship in theoretical terms-a relationship so deep and rooted in the disciplinary tradition-but to have verification of some design strategies and procedures used in the present. Ours is therefore primarily a practical and technical point of view. Often, however, especially in recent years, a misunderstanding arises if we claim to approach the issue from such a point of view. In fact, the debate has been characterized in a purely technological and physical-technical sense: in short, one associates the issue with the ecological question and is inclined to seek an answer that is as immediate as possible, of the performance type. This is a justified approach that remains, however, partial in our eyes: it seems to us incapable, in its ostentatious reliance on computational procedures and technological evolution, of satisfactorily interpreting a theme that instead invests us more broadly, including in its direct experience, which is not only physical, but psychophysical, imaginative and cultural. It is important, from our point of view, to make it clear that the critical condition of the present does not only need practical answers, but must be framed in a more general framework in order to prepare long-lasting and better effective strategies. It must be analyzed and addressed not only as a specifically environmental issue, but also as a social and existential issue. |
