Zusammenfassung: | Flame retardant fibers incorporated with various contents of inorganic layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoparticles were prepared by electrospinning. Results from X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) show that the LDH nanoparticles were well incorporated into the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) fibers of smooth and uniform morphology; Microscale combustion calorimeter (MCC) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) results indicate that the flame retardancy of the PMMA fibers is significantly improved with the addition LDH nanoparticles. A mechanism was proposed to explain the pivotal role of LDH in enhanced flame retardancy of PMMA fibers. |
