Review of family Monotomidae Laporte, 1840 (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea) in Korea

In total, 10 species in five genera of the family Monotomidae Laporte, 1840, are recognized from Korea. Among them, two genera (RhizophagoidesNakane & Hisamatsu, 1963, and Europs Wollaston, 1854) and four species (Monotoma (Monotoma) testacea Motschulsky, 1845, Rhizophagoides kojimaiNakane & Hisamatsu, 1963, Europs (Europs) temporis Reitter, 1884, and Rhizophagus (Rhizophagus) parviceps Reitter, 1884) are recorded for the first time from Korea. A key to species in Korea, diagnosis, and photographs of the adult for the species are provided. •The family Monotomidae from Korea is reviewed for the first time.•The adults of all Korean species are illustrated.•Key to species of the Korean Monotomidae is provided.
