Zusammenfassung: | Layer-by-layer (LbL) chemical deposition technique was successfully implemented as a low cost and efficient methodology for adsorptive removal of Mn(II)–Mn(VII) from aqueous and nonaqueous matrices. Several factors showed significant contributions to the adsorption process of Mn(II) such as solution pH, deposition area, reaction temperature, dipping cycles, dipping time and metal ion concentration. Mn(VII) was reduced via a green chemical process by the action of oxalic acid in an acidic medium to the corresponding Mn(II) and extracted in its reduced form. The potential applications of LbL for static adsorptive removal of Mn(II)–Mn(VII) from aqueous and nonaqueous samples were established. |
