Zusammenfassung: | Antioxidant characteristics of 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid isolated from Aster scaber Thunb. were
investigated using several oxidation systems. Compared with several phenolic and antioxidant
compounds, 3,5-dicaffeoylqunic acid exhibited effective radical scavenging activities on superoxide
anion and hydroxyl radical, and inhibited 89.8~98% human low density lipoprotein oxidation at 5~200
mg · ml−1, showing the most effective activity among tested phenolic compounds and α-tocopherol.
