Continuous epidural block is generally regarded as a safe procedure, and is widely applied for postoperative and chronic pain control. Complications can occur with this block, including postdural puncture headache and epidural abscess, and in rare cases diplopia etc. Diplopia after a dural puncture has occasionally been reported.
