Zusammenfassung: | Glossopharyngeal nerve block is usually carried out for glossopharyngeal neuralgia and can be performed easily by a blind technique. Anatomically, the glossopharyngeal nerve is located posteromedial to the styloid process, which is an important anatomic landmark for blockade. The internal carotid artery and internal jugular vein are located just medial to the glossopharyngeal nerve. If the styloid process is short or difficult to palpate, it is difficult to perform the block using the blind technique, and may cause hematoma formation and local anesthetic toxicity. Herein, a case of glossopharyngeal nerve block under the guidance of C-arm, in a patient with a short styloid process, is presented. KCI Citation Count: 0 |
