Zusammenfassung:Formation and the surface roughness of paper are important factors to determine the quality of the paper. Formation is determined by an extent of the fiber distribution non-uniformity. which decides three-dimensional structure of paper. If paper has poorly formation, there is a wide change in local basis weight, thickness and physical and chemical properties due to the non-uniformity of fiber distribution and bonding. Formation also affects strength, opacity and printability of paper. The surface roughness of the paper indicates the degree of height deviation in thickness direction. The stylus can be used to measure the profile of the paper surface height directly. The surface roughness SMD (mean absolute deviation from the height average, MAD) and the fractal dimension value (FD value) could be obtained by analyzing the thickness profile of paper. The formation was poor as the softwood pulp ratio increased and the beating time increased. Floc frequency of 1-16 mm size of 100% Sw-BKP handsheet was higher than that of 100% Hw-BKP handsheet. SMD obtained from the height of the paper thickness had a high correlation with the formation. However, FD value of analyzing the profile of thickness height had a low correlation with the formation.
