한국 의료관광 외국인환자의 국적별 이용 실태 연구

Despite the recent economic instability, the global market for medical tourism has been steadily growing and its competition is intensifying. In order to gain competitive advantage in the medical tourism market, it is necessary to understand the customers first. Korea is one of the top ten medical tourism countries in the world and has gained a high reputation as a medical tourism nation. About 60,000 international patients from 139 countries visited Korea in 2009 and about 320,000 international patients from 190 countries visited Korea in 2017. As the medical tourism market in Korea has been rapidly growing, it is important to understand medical tourism usage patterns of international patients. Therefore, this study investigated a cross-national study about medical tourism usage patterns of 1,200 international patients in Korea. A correspondence analysis was conducted to analyze the data. As a result of the analysis, I got meaningful implications among countries such as America, China, Japan Middle East, Southeast Asia, Russia, Mongolia etc. Their implications will help promote medical tourism to international patients in Korea.
