Zusammenfassung: | Liposomal restructuring induced by hemolyticListeria monocytogenes was investigated by using flow cytometry.When added to calcein-entrapped liposomes, hemolytic, butnot non-hemolytic, Listeria monocytogenes were able toinduce reformation of vesicles. Such restructuring of liposomeswas easily monitored by flow cytometry. Electron microscopyalso indicated major changes in the challenged liposomalstructures. The preliminary results described may offer asimple and fast method for monitoring liposomal restructuringand for differentiating between hemolytic and non-hemolyticbacteria. KCI Citation Count: 3 |
