Zusammenfassung:A marine sponge, Mycale (Mycale) laevis (Carter 1882), is newly reported from Korean sea waters. The specimen was collected by SCUBA diving in July 2016 from Gageocho, Gageodo, Korea. The characteristics of this specimen are similar to those of the specimens of van Soest (1984) and Pulitzer-Finali (1986); however, this specimen is slightly different in spicules size (subtylostyle, anisochela I).
