Helicobacter pylori 백신 개발 현황과 전망

Helicobacter pylori is one of the most common gastric pathogens, affecting at least half the world’s population, and is strongly associated with gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric adenocarcinoma, and gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. Vaccination against H. pylori has been challenging because of its low efficacy, lack of information about protective immunity, and disappointing clinical studies. A recent phase 3 clinical trial in China was reported to be successful to test prophylactic vaccination against H. pylori, which caused growing interest in the vaccine development against H. pylori.
