Zusammenfassung:The feasibility of a combined process of zeolite adsorption and electron-beam irradiation of live- stock wastewater was investigated. Livestock wastewater was effectively treated by electron-beam irradiation after zeolite adsorption. The removal efficiencies for a 1 g zeolite dose were 17.4 mg SCOD/g, 15.2 mg NH+ 4 -N/g, 5.3 mg T-N/g and 1.4 mg T-P/g with a 25 g/L zeolite dose. Those were increased to 20.4 mg SCOD/g, 32.8 mg NH+ 4 -N/g, 5.4 mg T-N/g and 1.6 mg T-P/g with a combination of a 25 g/L zeolite dose and 20 kGy electron-beam irradiation. However, the presence of silica zeolite did not accelerate the decomposition rate of livestock wastewater in the electron-beam radiation process. Conclusively, we could not get the catalytic effect of zeolite on the electron-beam radiation process of livestock wastewater, although zeolite was very effective for SCOD and NH+ 4 -N removal from livestock wastewater.
