Zusammenfassung:The proton beam user facility of the PEFP (Proton Engineering Frontier Project) is under construction. Two switching magnets are made to distribute 100-MeV and 20-MeV proton beams, extracted from the 100-MeV linac, at 7.5 Hz or 15 Hz. Vacuum chambers should be designed based on consideration of the effects of eddy currents. In this paper, analytical descriptions for various shapes are summarized, and numerical calculations to estimate not only the field attenuation but also the phase delay are presented for a semi-elliptical vacuum chamber and the switching magnet’s operation conditions by using the OPERA code.
