Zusammenfassung:Purpose: This study investigated the effects of family support and health promotion behaviors on quality of life of cancer patients after gastrectomy. Methods: A total of 108 participants who underwent gastrectomy within 2 years responded to self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics version 26.0 with independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Scheffe test, Pearson’s correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: Quality of life was significantly different depending on the participants’ age and main caregiver, and showed significant correlations with family support and health promotion behaviors. Hierarchical regression analysis explained 13% of the variance in quality of life in the first step with age and main caregiver and 39% in the second step adding family support and health promotion behaviors. Conclusion: In order to improve the quality of life of cancer patients after gastrectomy, patients’ family support and health promotion behaviors need to be improved. Additional research and nursing interventions on quality of life of this group of patients are needed to substantiate the importance of these influencing factors. KCI Citation Count: 0
